The research project "Hospital Engineering - innovation paths for the hospital of the future" aims at preparing the hospitals in North Rhine-Westphalia for the complex future demands in the context of a growing competition situation. One of the goals is to assist in hospitals in becoming competitively viable in technical and economic terms. Thus, a multi-perspective approach is being followed, with a holistic view of the overall hospital system, including the investigation of current innovations and their impact on adjacent sections.
On this website you will find detailed information on the initial project, supported by the NRW state government and the European Fund for Regional Development. News on the "Hospital Engineering" Initiative, founded in 2013, can be found together with descriptive reports of the Hospital Engineering Laboratory located at the Fraunhofer-inHaus-Center in Duisburg, Germany.
